Who operates Earned

Data Earned uses
Earned processes Shopify data needed to calculate product badges and provide the merchant dashboard:
- Shop, product, variant, collection, inventory, and product metafield data.
- Orders, line items, refunds, and fulfillment dates used for product-level calculations.
- Pseudonymous Shopify customer IDs used only to calculate repeat purchases.
- Shopify authentication session data for merchants and authorized staff using the app.
- Monthly badge impression and tooltip-interaction totals by shop, product, and badge type.
Earned does not need buyer names, email addresses, phone numbers, mailing addresses, payment details, or review content. Storefront analytics do not store shopper identities in the Earned application database.
How data is used
Data is used to import store activity, calculate badge eligibility, write app-owned metafields, display merchant insights, enforce plan limits, maintain app security, and respond to support or compliance requests. Earned does not sell store or customer data.
Service providers
Earned uses Shopify to provide the commerce platform and authentication, Railway to host application services, and Neon to host the PostgreSQL database. These providers process data to deliver their services.
Retention and deletion
Store-scoped operational data is retained while Earned is installed and while it is needed to calculate badges and dashboard history. Earned processes Shopify customer-redaction and shop-redaction webhooks. Customer redaction removes matching pseudonymous customer IDs, and shop redaction deletes the shop’s Earned records. A merchant can also request deletion by contacting support.
Security
Earned uses Shopify-managed authentication, signed app-proxy requests, encrypted HTTPS connections, and restricted production credentials. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Changes
This policy may be updated when Earned’s data practices or legal obligations change. The effective date above will be revised when that happens.
